How it works
A hands-free driving assistance feature that operates using a combination of LiDar mapping, GPS, Adaptive Cruise Control and real-time cameras.
Super Cruise doesn’t “drive” the vehicle, however, it allows for hands-free operation of the vehicle on compatible roads so long as the driver is attentive and engaged.
As of now, Super Cruise is compatible with over 130,000 miles of roads in North America. Super Cruise will only be operable on roads that are separated from opposing traffic, so keep this in mind when planning your trip.
Yes, Super Cruise cannot be used while Teen Driver is activated, and should never be used in dangerous driving or weather conditions. Avoid using Super Cruise in wet road conditions, construction zones, times of limited visibility, or in a tunnel.
Utilizing advanced features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, LiDar mapping, GPS and a Lane Sensing Camera, Super Cruise keeps you in the center of the lane while offering a safe, hands-free driving experience.
Simply place your hands on the steering wheel and engage the brake pedal while pressing the Super Cruise button, this will disengage the system. Super Cruise and Adaptive Cruise Control can also be deactivated if you engage the brake pedal abruptly.
Despite being a hands-free driver assistance system, Super Cruise does not steer to avoid collisions or pedestrians and is not a crash avoidance system. Drivers that use Super Cruise must remain attentive and engaged at all times while using Super Cruise.
All you need to do is place your hands on the steering wheel, Super Cruise’s light bar will pulse blue when manual steering is engaged.
The speed at which Super Cruise operates is determined by the speed set for Adaptive Cruise Control. If no speed has been set at the time of Super Cruise engagement, then it will operate at the vehicle’s current speed.
Chevrolet recommends that you have your vehicle and Super Cruise system serviced only by qualified and trained technicians with the appropriate tools for the job. The best place to service your Super Cruise system is right here at Champion Chevrolet of Fowlerville.
Designed to travel in the center of the lane, Super Cruise uses LiDar mapping and a Lane Sensing Camera to keep you safely in your lane while driving. Some customers may perceive the center of the lane to be elsewhere, but it is nothing more than their perception.
